This course covers the fundamental concepts of clinical psychology, evolution and development of Clinical psychology, readings on normality and abnormality, psychological disorders, clinical assessment, judgement and psycho therapies.

What Will You Learn?

  • Upon completion, the course will introduce students to the vast range of issues clinical psychology encompasses by a scholarly portrayal of the history of clinical psychology, its scope, functions and future and by reviewing it from different theoretical perspectives. The major topics sampled will be: an introduction to the field, including education and training; its historical background; diagnosis and abnormal behaviour; assessment (interview, cognitive, personality, and behavioural); current psychotherapies; research methods; forensic psychology; ethics; and current issues
