About Course

Conflict is difficult to define, because it occurs in many different settings. The essence of Conflict seems to be disagreement, contradiction, or incompatibility. Thus, CONFLICT refers to any situation in which there are incompatible Goals, Cognition, or Emotions within or between individuals or groups that lead to opposition or antagonistic interaction. The definition recognizes three basic types of conflict.


What Will You Learn?

  • Students identify and analyze theoretical frameworks, causes, and patterns of conflict in individuals, the workplace, the church, and in society as a whole.
  • Students research and provide strategic analysis of conflict resolution and negotiations, while incorporating cultural awareness and cognitive, emotional, and behavioral strategies.
  • Students identify and examine the roles that are prevalent in conflict. Roles relate to individuals, personalities, workplace perceptions, cultures, faith, forgiveness, blame, and the like.
  • Students apply critical thinking, assessment, and comprehensive knowledge in order to create a Presentation lesson, teaching the basic concepts of conflict and strategies of negotiation and management.
